He was born in Sri Lanka, in 1973. He completed his first Islamic studies and Arabic at Dharuth Thowheed Assalafiyya Institute in 1992. and a B.A. (Islamic Law) from the College of Islamic Law (Sharee’aa) at the Islamic University of Madeenah in 1999/2000.
At the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka , Faculty of Arts he completed a M.A. in Islamic Civilization in 2006, and in the department of Arabic and Islamic Studies at the University of Madras, India, he completed a Ph.D. in Islamic Civilization in 2015.
